In this video we will be demonstrating how to setup and use the Blackmagicdesign UltraStudio Mini Recorder with a Canon Vixia HF video camera. Specifically, we will demonstrate that it can be used with Google+ Hangouts on Air. This setup will make possible events in which a normal webcam is not adequate. Also used in the test is the Logitech C920 and the Samson Go-Mic. I ran into a technical difficulty during the broadcast that I wasn't expecting regarding the zoom feature on the camera while using the camera to record to the internal SD Card WHILE also feeding to the Hangout on Air. Further testing will be needed to determine if both Record to SD and Google+ Hangout on Air can be used simultaneously while retaining the ability to zoom with the optical zoom.
